OPERATION IN SIGHT: OPLAN BAKAL-SITA

On the 23 rd of January 2023, cadets from the Philippine National Police Academy together with the members of the Baguio City Police Office, City Mobile Force Company 3 rd Maneuver Platoon conducted “Oplan Bakal-Sita” and Implementation of Curfew for Minors within the central business district, in accordance with the local ordinance and as part of the Baguio City Police Office’s crime prevention program.

Oplan Bakal-Sita is basically a police operation in an establishment, normally a bar or nightclub, where policemen enter the place unannounced and conduct a search for firearms and any possible threat that may cause harm to people which may also be in the possession of customers/guests. It is a surprise search so that guests or customers who have guns/weapons in their possession can be caught red-handed.

The operation was carried out smoothly and efficiently, as the police officers displayed their expertise and professionalism. The streets were bustling with activity as people went about their daily business, yet the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, owing to the diligent and alert presence of law enforcement officers. The public seemed to feel reassured by their presence, and many even approached them to express their gratitude for keeping the city safe.

Oplan Bakal-Sita is not just a display of strength and authority but also a demonstration of care and concern for the people. The police officers went about their duties with a smile on their faces, always ready to assist those in need and to listen to the concerns of the public.
